The UK Boarder Agency advises that due to major technical problems occurred on October 9, 2008 some fiancée and marriage visa applications may be subject to processing delays. Settlement and non-settlement applications submitted online on or after October 10, 2008 are unaffected.
Immigration officials are taking steps to reduce the backlog of applications as quickly as possible. The UK Boarder Agency suggests that all visa applicants, whose applications have been affected, contact a British Consulate or High Commission that has jurisdiction over their pending applications for more information about the projected times for consular officials to complete processing of delayed cases.
