Beginning 22 November 2010, processing fees for the UK settlement visas most often applied for by fiance(e)s, partners and spouses of British Citizens and lawful permanent residents will increase from current £644 to £750 or the equivalent in foreign currencies.
UK settlement visa fee increases are as follows:
Settlement applications made outside the UK:

- UK de facto (unmarried) partner visa – from £644 to £750
- UK marriage (spousal) visa – from £644 to £750

The UK settlement visa processing fee is paid by all visa applicants in advance or at the time of submission of the application. The UKBA fee is not refundable regardless of the outcome of the application.
Past increases in settlement visa fees did not negatively impact on the number of applications received worldwide. However, this fee increase along with the new English language requirement may suppress the demand for UK family visas in some countries.
