According to a recent announcement from the UK Border Agency (UKBA), the British Consulate General in New York will shortly take jurisdiction over all settlement and non-settlement visa cases in the United States, including applications for a UK marriage visa, UK fiancee visa, UK proposed civil partner visa, UK unmarried partner visa and UK civil partnership visa.

Effective 6th April 2011, the British Consulate General in Los Angeles will no longer be processing settlement visa applications, except for online applications submitted by California residents before 6th April 2011. All online applications submitted on or after 6th April 2011 must be sent to the British Consulate in New York.
